Plato was an ancient Greek philosopher of the Classical period who is considered a foundational thinker in Western Philosophy and Socrates also described as the father of Western philosophy. Socrates believed in a universal form of knowledge that can be acquired through a method, and Plato found derived knowledge to be limited due to the limitations of our physical capabilities.
