Henry Ward Beecher

Henry Ward was a renowned clergyman, author, anti-slavery activist, and reformer in the ninetenth century. At a time when Priests played a noticeable part in american life, beecher associated with a era of adherents made uneasy by the quick advance of industrialization.. Beecher’s  exceptional oratory skills, sermons simple enough for any person to understand & his humor brought him international notoriety and provided a platform from which he was able to launch a career of political activism & religious reform. Henry Beecher was also embroiled in one of the most spectacular scandals of his day.
