Bangladesh achieved many tremendous achievments through her last half-century journey of development. In 1971, 3 million Bengalis laid down their lives for a free motherland. The then 75 million people of East Pakistan rose to the occasion stirred by the passionate oratory of their unanimous leader Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. They were converted into a single soul to fight a sanguinary liberation struggle against the rapacious and perfidious Pakistan armed forces. After undergoing excruciating pain, they wrenched their right to self-determination and honor.
